Performance Upgrades for Sony ICF-2010/2001D

I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know how much I enjoy the new filter and audio/memory upgrade for my ICF-2010. I should've had the upgrade done years ago! Thanks again for such a great upgrade! Bob S. USA

The Audio Upgrade consists of replacing key components in the audio signal path. The end result is an improved clarity to the audio which improves overall intelligibility (consonants like c's, k's and q's have improved definition). This also reduces listening fatigue. The Memory backup requires the installation of a 100,000 uf (0.1 Farad!) capacitor across the AA memory back-up batteries. This allows removal of the AA batteries for up to ten minutes without loss of installed memory information. Complete installation instructions are included.

Hi-Fidelity Filter Option

We normally recommend the "Blue Dot" filter (6.5kHz) as the best wide filter for AM and Shortwave listening. This filter provides good fidelity and provides excellent 5 kHz hetrodyne rejection when listening to SW broadcast stations. The Hi-Fidelity Filter Option uses the LFH-6S filter which has a nominal bandwidth of 8.2 kHz. This bandwidth will provide maiximum fidelity for listening to AM BCB music stations and it also provides moderate hetrodyne rejection when listening to SW. Installation of the LFH-6S and the Audio Upgrade truly makes the 2010 one of the best sounding portables. Music stations really *sparkle*!
